    Dilkes Academy Summer Term Sports Review 2021/22

    Quadkids Athletics KS1 & KS2 Success

    Congratulations to all our athletes who performed so well at the Thurrock SSP (School Sport Partnership) event.

    Our 8 athletes from KS1 finished in 2nd place. Year 3 & 4 finished in 8th overall, whilst the Yr 5 & 6 finished in Gold medal position. Congratulations to Christian & Glory who took 1st place in the Yr 5/6 individual boys & girls competition. A fantastic achievement from all 3 teams.

    Borough Olympics KS1 & KS2

    Both Key Stage Teams finished second in their respective events, scoring well in both the track and field events through the school years and competed at a very high standard. We are very proud of their efforts and also the way they represented the school on and off the track at Blackshots stadium.

    Dilkes Sportsday and Finals

    Congratulations to all the pupils that took part in the Dilkes Sportsday event and also the children that made it through to the Finals day on June 18th. Some excellent performances in running, throwing and jumping across the years.

    Supersports Rounders Update

    The Year 6 Supersports team completed its 3 event competition with a Summer term Rounders event held at William Edwards recently and finished in 5th position overall.

    Well done to the following pupils who took part: Logan, Charlie, Ben, Max, Penny, Evie, Emmy, Miya, Isabella, Riley, Ronnie, Jessica & Le-Arnie

    Cricket KS1

    The KS1 team competed at a 3 tees event recently at Orsett Cricket club and got there first competitive taster at cricket and had a great time, finishing 4th. The team who performed so well:

    Ismail, Luqman, Mattas, Kuba, Marwa, Annabel, Amelia & Kiera-Louise.

    Cricket KS2 Yr 3 & Yr 4

    Congratulations to the team that took part in the Thurrock SSP Rapid Fire cricket event recently, with some great batting and fielding skills and should be very proud of their performance, winning all of their matches.

    The squad: Riley, Eliana. Elisa, Abbie, Freddie ,Jake, Albie & Kayson

    Cricket KS2 Yr 5 & 6 Girls

    The Girls cricket team competed in a league format programme and finished in 2nd place winning 4 matches and playing to a great level and showed improvement in every game. Well Done Girls The squad:

    Olivia, Fatima, Jayla, Ginelle, Mya, Eliana, Ella, Emma, Evie, Daisy & Gabriella.

    Cricket KS2 Yr 5 & 6 Boys

    Pride of place goes to the Boys Year 5/6 Cricket team who won the Thurrock Schools Cricket Cup final against Quarry Hill.

    The team has excelled in all their cup matches and performed to a very high level in all elements of the game winning by 62 runs. A very proud moment for me as the team organised, managed, supported and encouraged each other in a complete team performance. Well Done boys, a truly fantastic achievement by all of you.

    Catalyst Cup update

    This term we competed against the other 4 Catalyst schools in various events such as Athletics, Archery, Quadkids, Cricket & Dance, with the main highlight being at the KS2 Catalyst Olympics at Blackshots stadium with all 5 schools being represented by approx 30 pupils from each school taking part in various events with Dilkes coming out on top in a tightly contested event.

    We just wanted to thank every single pupil from their hard work and positive attitude in PE lessons, after school clubs and Inter sports events who have made this year such a fun, exciting and successful year in our sporting achievements both individual and as part of a team, you are all amazing, well done.
